          After two days of cuddling and sex with her husband, it was very difficult for Funmi to sleep alone. She had already told Ngozi her own part of the story but she put it down all the same. She wrote;

          She decided to stop there because she didn’t know what to write anymore. She started listening to the playlist Ngozi gave her.           Involuntary tears streaked down Funmi’s face, she hugged her knees to her chest, rocking herself back and fort. She needed badly to be held. Suddenly the room felt too big, the bed too large, she was very lonely. The little things she took for granted nipped at her. It was true they weren’t cuddling but at least, he has always been beside her and his body heat warmed her. They made small conversations, and sometimes made love but this night, she felt empty and it occurred to her that her life was empty without him!

 

          That realization depressed her more than anything she had gone through in the past years. The walls of their bedroom were closing in on her, she couldn’t breathe and she was a bit scared. She decided to get a drink and escape the room for a while. She moved quietly like a cat hunting a mouse, she didn’t want to wake Seyi or alert him. She didn’t know if she could face him or keep her hands off him if they bumped into each other.

 

          She heard him before she turned around and faced him, she stared at him begging him with her eyes to wrap her in his arms but he just stood there watching her. They moved at the same time and she purposely brushed her arm against his, she heard him inhale sharply and she was pleased to know she wasn’t alone in this tension. She smiled as she walked to her room.
She mailed Ngozi and surrounded herself with lots of pillows. It was the loneliest moment of her life.
